Cardinal Solar Technologies set to begin production soon

There are no sidewalks yet, no landscaping to deck the new Cardinal Solar Technologies factory in Mazomanie. But 25 employees are on the job, installing equipment and getting trained, plant manager Jeff Valek says. And on April 17, Vice President Andy Jensen will be on campus to talk about “Entrepreneurship and Green Power” as part of the Business, Environment, and Social Responsibility (BESR) community forum. Click here to read more.

Grainger Hall Atrium
The G. Steven Burrill Business Plan Competition offers students a chance to compete for cash prizes of $10,000, $7,000, $4,000 and $1,000. Winning ideas have included plans to market and sell products such as personal finance software, bindings for wake boards, and bio-genetic information. Attending the Burrill Competition is FREE and open to the public. Click here for more.

Wisconsin's Energy Future:
Third Annual Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference

With so much stimulus funding aimed at renewable energy, this year's conference includes exhibits on emerging federal and state energy policies; opportunities to develop more home-grown energy resources such as biomass, wind and solar; strategies to create jobs in a sustainable economy and many other topics. Click here for more.   
 
UW-Madison’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and Center for World Affairs and the Global Economy (WAGE) are co-sponsoring this conference, which will include sessions on China, India, Internet strategies for international business and dealing with the global downturn.
