Martin names business school dean to coordinate strategy, development
Chancellor Carolyn "Biddy" Martin announced the appointment of Michael Knetter, dean of the business school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as special assistant/liaison to the chancellor for long-term strategy and development.

Nicholas gift endows business school deanship
A gift from longtime university supporter Albert O. Nicholas and his wife, Nancy Johnson Nicholas, has created an endowed deanship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Wisconsin School of Business.

Monday, January 5, 2009: Intent to Compete Form Due
The UW–Madison New Arts Venture Challenge is a competition to encourage new thinking and innovative ideas. Entrants will develop and present a thorough proposal that will result in an arts event, exhibition, series or project. Proposals should demonstrate creativity, innovation, added value to the arts, and potential for success.
Now through January 31, 2009
The nation's first statewide, tech-based business plan competition is accepting entries online for the 2009 competition. Entries will be accepted now through 5 p.m. Jan. 31, 2009. The contest's Grand Prize is worth $50,000 in cash and services.  
 
January 14
This full-day program will help you understand business taxes based on different legal forms of business to minimize taxes and maximize liability protection.
