Technology Licensing
UW-Madison conducts more than $900 million of federally-funded research annually, making it the largest public research university in the nation. The extent of innovative research occurring on campus, combined with the need for Wisconsin business and industry to be competitive in a global market, have made UW-Madison's work in technology transfer more critical than ever.
Much of UW-Madison's research in science and technology can be transferred to business and industry through licensing, available via UW-Madison partners
WARF and
WiSys. Additional resources are available to business and industry engaged in start-up activities through the
University Research Park, a business incubator that fosters development and commercialization of new ideas and technologies.
