Morgridge Institute

Research is underway at the private, not-for-profit Morgridge Institute for Research, part of the twin
Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery opening in late 2010 on the UW-Madison campus. The Morgridge Institute for Research, led by executive director Dr. Sangtae "Sang" Kim, leverages the best of a great public university with the flexibility and resources of a world-class private research institute.
Its mission is to enhance the university's considerable strengths in interdisciplinary biomedical research and accelerate the process of "Discovery to Delivery" to improve human health in Wisconsin and around the world. The Morgridge Institute is committed to building a collaborative research capability that integrates world-class basic science, initially focused on the challenge areas of regenerative biology headed by stem cell pioneer Dr. James Thomson, and virology, through a strong cyberinfrastructure core and innovative science education.
